Yaskawa Vfd Smart Power makes control-system health visible

Bring VFD status, electrical measurements, network events and maintenance evidence into one operating view without confusing monitoring data with protective-device authority.

Connected control cabinet and power monitoring dashboard

Smart Power is a disciplined information architecture: capture useful signals at the machine, retain context for alarms, and turn trends into maintenance actions that technicians can verify at the equipment.

Three connected capability goals

01

Contextual alarms

Combine controller state, electrical values and equipment mode so an alert explains what changed. A useful record includes timestamp, operating state, threshold, acknowledgement and recovery result.

02

Network visibility

Track device availability and communication events at defined intervals. Monitoring should distinguish a field-device fault, cable interruption, switch issue and supervisory-server outage.

03

Maintenance evidence

Use runtime counters, switching frequency and temperature trends to prioritize inspection. Predictions remain hypotheses until confirmed by physical checks and work-order outcomes.

Progress bars describe implementation gates, not a claimed project completion percentage. Sampling rate, time synchronization, sensor accuracy, network availability and data retention all limit the conclusions that can be drawn.

A reproducible trial records the controller and meter revisions, test interval, equipment mode, observed event, raw timestamp and expected response. The team then compares the digital record with a calibrated field measurement and a completed maintenance observation. This method exposes clock drift, scaling errors and missing operating context before analytics are used to schedule work.

CE, UL, IEC or RoHS documents are relevant only when the specific device, market and declaration scope match the installed configuration. A monitoring layer does not replace SCCR evaluation, selective coordination or protective-device settings.
